Sewer Mining at Curlewis Golf Club

The sewer mining plant that has been commissioned and is currently undergoing water validation testing, at Curlewis Golf Club on the Bellarine Peninsula outside Geelong was officially opened on Friday 7 October, and will commence supplying irrigation water for the course for the coming summer.

CURLEWIS GOLF CLUB

 WJP Solutions have provided the design and construction of an innovative waste water treatment plant at the Curlewis Golf Club, near Geelong. Waste water is ‘mined’ from the authority sewer rising main adjacent to the course, and treated to ensure a year round supply of irrigation quality water.

The plant is designed to treat up to 250 KL/day.

ANZ GLOBAL HEADQUARTERS

Situated in Melbourne's Docklands precinct, the new global headquarters for the ANZ Bank incorporates a state-of-the-art wastewater recycling plant to capture, treat and recycle all sewage and grey water generated daily by the building's approximately 6000-strong workforce.

The incorporation of this system has assisted the building gain a 6 star as-built rating, making it one of the first office buildings in Australia to achieve this status.

THE GAUGE - DOCKLANDS (VIC)

The in building black water recycling system installed at The Gauge in Melbourne's Docklands precinct treats sewage and produces up to 10 kL/day of water which is used to flush toilets throughout building.

The plant assisted Lend Lease to deliver Australia's first 6-star as-built office building.

URBAN WORKSHOP - MELBOURNE (VIC)

The innovative building at 50 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne features a WJP Solutions  blackwater recycling system, which was the first large-scale in building recycled water treatment plant designed and installed in an Australian capital city.

The project set the benchmark for future multi-storey buildings, and collects black and grey water, providing up to 98 kL/day of water for toilet flushing.

WESTFIELD - SYDNEY CITY (NSW)

The major upgrade of the Westfield owned and managed Sydney City retail and office building, below the iconic Centerpoint Tower in the heart of Sydney, features a WJP Solutions decentralised black water treatment plant.

The plant, situated in the lowest basement, is  designed to treat up to 300 kL/day of waste water, for uses including toilet flushing, cooling tower supply, plant room wash-down and irrigation.

BURPENGARY SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT (QLD)

WJP Solutions have worked in conjunction with Unity Water to integrate a membrane operation system into one of the existing bioreactors at their Burpengary Sewerage Treatment Plant, as part of a major upgrade of the facility. The plant will produce up to 6 ML of water each day, for reuse in township and industrial applications.

CBW (VIC)

CBW comprises two multi-storey office towers in central Melbourne. WJP Solutions' have installed a black water treatment plant capable of producing up to 100 kL/day of recycled water to the standard required for use in toilet flushing and for cooling towers.

This has contributed to the building attaining a 5 Star (Green Star) rating.

DIGITAL HARBOUR (VIC)

The Digital Harbour office development in Melbourne's CBD has achieved a 5-Star As-built rating from the Green Building Council of Australia, assisted in part by the installation of a WJP Solutions' in building wastewater treatment plant. The advanced wastewater recycling system treats office wastewater to produce 15 kL/day of water for toilet flushing.

SOUTH EAST CORRECTIONAL FACILITY - GATTON (QLD)

The new state of the art correctional facility at Gatton includes an advanced wastewater treatment plant designed and constructed by WJP Solutions.

The partly containerised plant features an full MBR treatment process, including sludge processing; the system delivers 78 kL/day of water for toilet flushing, irrigation and cooling tower use, and sets a new benchmark for remote location correctional facilities in Australia.

MELBOURNE MARKETS (VIC) - TEMPORARY TREATMENT PLANT

WJP Solutions designed, manufactured and installed a containerised Waste water treatment plant to treat waste water generated by the construction workforce during construction of the new Melbourne Markets development in Epping, north of Melbourne.

The plant can be decommissioned and relocated for use on other construction sites at the completion of this project.

MELBOURNE UNIVERSITY (VIC)

The new Economics and Commerce Building at the University of Melbourne incorporates a number of innovative features including a WJP Solutions black water plant producing a total of 32 kL/day of treated water, in two streams: one for toilet flushing, the second undergoing reverse osmosis treatment making it suitable for use in the cooling system.

MELBOURNE ZOO (VIC) - STORM WATER TREATMENT PLANT

WJP Solutions have successfully provided a storm water treatment plant for the Melbourne Zoo.

The plant processes water from the gravity fed storm-water system, and produces up to 1050 kL/day of recycled class ‘A’ water for re-use within the Zoo for irrigation, wash-down and exhibit top-up purposes.

STATE NETBALL AND HOCKEY CENTRE (VIC)

Designed and constructed by WJP Solutions, the water treatment plant – which has a daily capacity of 66 kL/day – collects, treats and re-uses storm water to wet the hockey pitches daily.

This water is then also collected, re-treated and used again.

SOUTHERN CROSS DEVELOPMENT (VIC)

WJP Solutions installed an in building black water treatment plant as part of the innovative office development at the site of Melbourne’s famous Southern Cross hotel in the Melbourne CBD.

The plant, which was included as one of the green initiatives for the project, processes the building’s black and grey water, producing 100 kL/day of water for toilet flushing.
